Anne W. Glackin, GG

With over a decade of experience in the jewelry industry, Anne brings a combination of technical expertise and thoughtful design to every piece she creates.

Anne studied Art History in college before earning her Graduate Gemologist (GG) degree from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). She completed NYU’s Appraisal Studies Program in Fine and Decorative Arts, with a focus on fine jewelry, and became a Certified Appraiser through the Appraisers Association of America. Her design training includes numerous jewelry design courses through the New York Jewelry Design Institute.

Anne most notably worked at Harry Winston as a Quality Control Analyst, where she developed an uncompromising eye for diamonds, gemstones, and fine jewelry construction. She later joined international auction house, Phillips Auctioneers, as a Jewelry Specialist. The experience of working with such a diverse range of fine and historical jewelry sharpened her eye and expanded her creative vocabulary.

In 2016, while still at Harry Winston, Anne was unexpectedly diagnosed with thyroid cancer. As part of her recovery, she designed what would become her Annie James Collection, to spread awareness for the disease. Her collection of fine jewelry blends classic style with a modern lifestyle.

In 2021, Anne left the auction world to give her custom jewelry, collection, and consulting services her full attention, relaunching them under the Annie James name. Anne currently lives just outside New York City in Westchester County with her growing family.
